Intersessions play a vital role in the holistic development of our students. By stepping outside the confines of the traditional classroom, students have the opportunity to explore new interests, develop critical skills, and form lasting friendships.
From the towering Woolly Mammoth to the fierce Sabertooth Tiger, our students immersed themselves in an all-day Scavenger Hunt, uncovering the mysteries of ancient life in Los Angeles.
The Art Expo served as a culmination of the hard work and dedication of both students and instructors. Through our art electives and the after-school Resilient Artish club, students explore various mediums, techniques, and styles, honing their skills and unleashing their artistic potential. It was truly inspiring to witness the growth and confidence displayed by each participant.
Thanks to the Student Services department, School Counselors, staff, and volunteers, Scholarship Prep Orange County and Oceanside were transformed into winter wonderlands with many entertaining crafts, snacks, and activities that kept our campus jumpin' throughout the event.
This year, Scholarship Prep Orange County welcomed the world of Jazz to campus with an after-school program designed to introduce students to music with band, piano, and bucket drumming!
Students from grades TK to 8th showcased their talents through vocal performances, dances, and poetry recitals, while the dance groups brought the house down with sensational performances featuring challenging routines in various styles.
The Winter Arts Showcase at Scholarship Prep Orange County featured the many talents honed by our students who participate in our Arts electives. The evening began with breathtaking performances by our dance groups, showcasing challenging routines in various styles, followed by a fine art exhibit in the courtyard.
The Scholarship Prep team attended and participated in this year's highly anticipated Charter School Development Center (CSDC) Conference, where we found inspiration and made a meaningful impact. Whether leading a workshop, participating on a panel, or attending a session, CSDC 2023 provides valuable opportunities to collaborate with like-minded educators and create equitable and high-quality educational experiences for all students.
The Scholarship Prep Orange County girls and boys middle school soccer teams had a fantastic season this year! Both teams played with determination and skill, which paid off with an exhilarating playoff run in the Orange County Charter School Sports League playoffs.
From dressing up as characters from our favorite books, decorating trunks with spooky themes, delivering Boo Grams, and inviting our families on campus for Fall Fest, our Scholarship Prep community across each campus really got into the spirit of our October events!

As part of our back-to-school preparations, Scholarship Prep’s Student Services team distributed back-to-school kits to more than 200 students and their families who are experiencing homelessness or housing instability.

The recent Met Gala event at SP Oceanside was a stunning display of the performing and fine art talents of our TK-8th grade students. The silent auction of paintings and drawings by our gifted students was a highlight of the evening, with over 150 family members and friends in attendance to admire and bid on the artwork.

SP believes in developing leaders from within and encourages all employees to fully engage in PD opportunities that arise. See how four of our team members have done just that through graduate-level reading intervention coursework offered through the San Diego County Office of Education and St. Mary’s College.
Scholarship Prep South Bay is proud to partner with the Los Angeles Maritime Institute to offer our 8th-grade class an incredible experience. Coordinated by School Counselor Mr. Castillo, students meet on weekends aboard a sailing ship, where they are introduced to sailing and marine biology, discuss the effects of pollution, and learn more about maritime careers.
Dessert-first, red carpet, confetti-filled celebrations honored Scholars who achieved success and mastery in Mathematics and English Language Arts in last year's CAASPP test. Throughout the year, we’re honored to share at conferences state-wide how our trauma-informed teaching, community partnerships, and wraparound services are making a difference in the lives of students and families. Most recently, our team traveled to California Charter School Association’s annual conference in Sacramento, where we presented on topics and were inspired by like-minded educators.
There's no better way to inspire students for college and career readiness than an interactive Career Carnival putting professionals in the spotlight who are ready to answer our TK-8th graders' questions. What better way to celebrate Women's History Month than to hear from some of San Diego's most influential leaders? Our SPOS 7th-grade team hosted a panel that stopped by campus to speak to our Scholars about their steps to become the trailblazers they are!
How can a willingness to persevere manifest in the face of devastating circumstances? Through art, poetry, and prose, Scholarship Prep's 8th graders explored how love paved the way to overcome the impossible in Chapman University's 24th Annual Holocaust Art & Writing Contest.
The Scholarship Prep South Bay competition dance team emerged victorious in the Sharp International Cheer and Dance Nationals. Fourth through Eighth-grade students erupted in celebration in hearing the Scholarship Prep name called as first place champions in the Hip Hop division and third in the overall competition. Their rise has been meteoric, with the team forming only weeks prior, upon returning from Winter break.
Whether through artistic expression, movement, or the written word, our campuses honored Black Americans' achievements, determination, and triumphs throughout our nation’s history.
The LA Clippers and Forum staff members shared their pathways for success from college to their current roles in the communications, event management, and business operations departments and the valuable life lessons that our Scholars can benefit from as student-athletes.
Through the program, students are prepared for the real world by showing them how to generate income and effectively manage it, create jobs that make their communities more robust, and apply entrepreneurial thinking to the workplace.
Coach T’s Dolphins proved that the organization-wide “Lead With Love” philosophy is a winning solution, with teams claiming two out of three championships from the three divisions. Congratulations to our winning TK-2nd, 3rd-5th, and 6th-8th teams! In all, four out of five Scholarship Prep teams made it to the finals.
After weeks of preparation, the voices of our South Bay students rang out with holiday cheer during December’s memorable all-school winter recital. Here at Scholarship Prep, creative expression is essential for every child. Our performing arts program allows students to explore their emotions, expand their imagination, and helps them develop their unique voices.
With exciting reenactments, props, dance, games, and music, Scholarship Prep students participate in unforgettable educational experiences that bring history to life! Walk Through History programs are incredibly fun and set the stage for more in-depth classroom learning.
Artist Brian Peterson's mural greets our students every morning at drop-off and was designed to uplift and educate our students with historical figures that have left a legacy for us to participate in. These world changers positively contributed to society in a myriad of ways, including civil service, social justice, civil rights, arts, and athletics.
NOW ENROLLING! Scholarship Prep's new, state-of-the-art campus provides a unique opportunity for TK-3rd grade students throughout Orange County. We have designed a space that invites and excites students to learn and supports their social and emotional well-being.

Scholarship Prep campuses continue to close the achievement gap for English learners and socioeconomically disadvantaged students.
Scholarship Prep Public Schools is expanding its footprint. Due to its success, in 2018 the U.S. Department of Education awarded Scholarship Prep Public Schools a $12 million grant to expand and replicate its education model.
