The Scholarship Prep South Bay competition dance team emerged victorious in the Sharp International Cheer and Dance Nationals. Fourth through Eighth-grade students erupted in celebration in hearing the Scholarship Prep name called as first place champions in the Hip Hop division and third in the overall competition. Their rise has been meteoric, with the team forming only weeks prior, upon returning from Winter break.

El equipo de baile de la competencia Scholarship Prep South Bay salió victorioso en los Sharp International Cheer and Dance Nationals. Los estudiantes de cuarto a octavo grado estallaron en celebración al escuchar el nombre de Scholarship Prep como campeones del primer lugar en la división Hip Hop y terceros en la competencia general. Su ascenso ha sido meteórico, con el equipo formándose solo unas semanas antes, al regresar de las vacaciones de invierno.

Under the direction of coaches Christin Rickman, School Psychologist, and Faith Cobbins, Dance Elective Teacher, the team has made the most of practices in the school's gym. Friendships forged through the hard work and determination it takes to memorize choreography resulted in a team bond recognized by judges when bestowing our Dolphins with "Most Enthusiastic" honors.

Bajo la dirección de las entrenadoras Christin Rickman, psicóloga escolar, y Faith Cobbins, maestra optativa de baile, el equipo ha aprovechado al máximo las prácticas en el gimnasio de la escuela. Las amistades forjadas a través del arduo trabajo y la determinación que se necesita para memorizar la coreografía dieron como resultado un vínculo de equipo reconocido por los jueces al otorgar a nuestros Dolphins los honores de "Más entusiastas".

However, the awards didn't stop there as student Marley G. received 1st place in "High Kick," and our fearless leaders accepted the 1st place Coaches Award. The team will be riding the momentum of these accolades as they prepare for two more competitions through the end of this second semester – May 20th in Baldwin Park and June 3rd in Ontario, CA.

Sin embargo, los premios no se detuvieron allí, ya que la estudiante Marley G. recibió el primer lugar en "High Kick" y nuestros intrépidos líderes aceptaron el premio de entrenadores del primer lugar. Although the competition dance team allows students to represent the school across the region, all students have a chance for their time in the spotlight. Scholarship Prep's robust electives program in The Arts offers performing and visual arts courses throughout the school week. Ultimately, the goal of this program, along with our athletics electives, is to promote pathways to scholarships for all Scholars. This taste of victory is sure to inspire students to "Reach Higher and Dream Bigger!"

Aunque el equipo de baile de competencia permite que los estudiantes representen a la escuela en toda la región, todos los estudiantes tienen la oportunidad de ser el centro de atención. El sólido programa de materias optativas de Scholarship Prep en The Arts ofrece cursos de artes escénicas y visuales durante toda la semana escolar. En última instancia, el objetivo de este programa, junto con nuestras electivas de atletismo, es promover caminos hacia las becas para todos los becarios. Este sabor de la victoria seguramente inspirará a los estudiantes a "¡Llegar más alto y soñar en grande!"
