Scholarship Prep Distributes Back-to-School Essentials to Students and Families Experiencing Homelessness

As part of our back-to-school preparations, Scholarship Prep’s Student Services team distributed back-to-school kits to more than 200 students and their families who are experiencing homelessness or housing instability.

The event served students in three different counties and provided school essentials, including dress code items (polos, sweatshirts, shorts, pants), school supplies, backpacks, boxes of non-perishable food items, snacks, and hygiene kits. These supplies will not only help ensure our students have what they need to succeed in school but also ease the burden on their families.

The event is not a one-time occurrence; Scholarship Prep hosts additional supply events in December, halfway through the school year. If families are in need outside of these large distributions, the Student Services team is always available to connect families with campus resources or through our community partnerships.

Providing resources and building relationships helps make a significant impact on the lives of our students and their families experiencing homelessness, and we’re thankful for the dedication of the Student Services Team led by Kristen Crowe (Chief Community Officer) and assisted by Victor Carcamo (Coordinator of Student Services) and Karina Montes (Student Services Assistant).
